Many learning squash all in one day
Yesterday I personally coached 38 people.
24 Year 5 kids from Barley Hill – all were successfully hitting the ball and almost all were managing to serve. I hope they enjoyed their PE lesson.
7 kids ranging in age from 10 to 15 – Monday after school coaching session – usually with Roger. All listened well and tried hard to execute the new movement for boasting.
2 new adults – individual private coaching – starting with the right grip, which way to face, when to run, when to stop and some of the safety aspects like watch where the ball is coming from at all times (don’t stare at the front wall) and pass the ball by throwing not by using the racket.
5 adults of varying standard – adult improvers – staying ready for the next shot, when to get your racket prepared for each shot, how to start getting the ball out of the back corners using the boast.
I hope everyone enjoyed their time on court with me.
Roger also introduced 15 of the Thame Rainbows – ages 7 to 9 girls – to ball co-ordination and racket skills – he also taught the 4pm after school class.
So in all, Racquets coached 54 people in one day !
