DropiT21 : my experience
Until age 40 I didn’t need to diet because I was playing squash between 4 and 10 times a week.
At 40 I had my first child and at 43 my second. All changed with respect to exercise. Just like most other mums there was simply no time left in the day for me. When there was time tiredness kicked in and working out seemed to be getting further and further away.
So I thought I’d given up my beloved sport of squash forever.
Life has changed in the past year and so much for the better. I am back to playing some squash, but mostly my time on court is coaching. Not that much exercise – more talking. So I still needed something to help me get my body back to feeling in balance, stronger and sleeping when the chance arises.
Sandra came to us at Racquets to discuss her diet and fitness programme DropiT21; a collection of knowledge, mentoring, recipes, short HiiT workouts, and community spirit. The results that she has been getting in previous programmes made us listen and we decided to give it a try ourselves.
We followed the dietary advice religiously, I didn’t manage to do the workouts every day – but replaced them with longer high intensity squash training fewer times a week. Those short HiiT workouts that I did do – I could definitely see the value of those.
We managed to keep the diet going right through the 3 weeks with only one curry on one of the Friday nights.
I had decided to join in because there was talk that this might help with my sleep patterns that had been shot to pieces over the past few years and thereby help the tiredness during the day.
I have to say that this has definitely been achieved. I’m not saying that I’m sleeping the full 8 hours but now only waking 1 or maybe 2 times a night and in between getting deep sleep. I’m not feeling tired during the day at all.
I have gone from 10st 6lbs to 9st 13lbs. The DropiT21 team also like to measure inches around different parts of the body. My ‘total inches’ was 168.5 on 4th January and 162 on 26th. I’ve had to buy clothes which are medium size rather than large for the first time in 30 years !
We are continuing to apply the principles of the diet to almost all of our meals and expect this to continue forever. Returning to the way we were eating before is no longer an option.
Our aim now is to try to introduce some of this dietary knowledge into our kids lives but this might prove to be a hard goal to achieve.
If you have weight to lose, are not sleeping deeply at night, need to get motivated back into exercise in a busy lifestyle I would definitely give this 3 weeks a go.
Racquets is offering this programme on behalf of Sandra because we are happy that it helps you achieve results in a short time using good quality eating and fitness as the basis and allows you to get your body towards a state where longer term exercise feels normal.
I encourage you to try this programme and change your life. You can find more information on our DropiT21 page.
