  • Rainbows enjoy squash lesson at Racquets

Thame Rainbows groups enjoyed an hour of ball and racket skills with the squash coaches at Racquets Fitness Centre in May 2016.  Rainbows is a great group for young girls as they give them the opportunity to try out an enormous amount of different activities – whether craft, sport, outdoor activities or community activity.

    Rainbows squash lesson at Racquets

35 girls age 7-9  years old visited Racquets on two evenings in May to play ball co-ordination and racket skills games as an introduction to squash.

Squash is a great game for girls.

It can be played as an individual or a team sport.  Or it can be played just for fun and exercise.

When it’s raining outside you can guarantee your leisure activity will still go ahead.

Squash can be played at any time of the day – the courts are there to be used.  A quick 20 minutes of practice before or after homework give the brain a break from studying.

Though we have only 4 squash courts at Racquets you will often see 20 people playing all at the same time.  One court can have a group of 10 playing 3/4 court or sliding doors.

We have a group coaching course that runs each term on Fridays from 4pm to 5pm specially for girls.  So please do come along and have a chat with our coaches – one of which is a girl herself and keen to get more girls playing.
