Racquets shows strongly at Oxfordshire Junior Closed Champs
Nick Harbour and Ben Hedger show how Racquets Junior squash programmes are producing strength in depth.
On 27/28th September 2014 the Oxfordshire Junior Closed Championships took place at Abingdon Squash Club.
Nick won the Under 15s tournament and Ben won the Under 17s.
Both players are now very strong players, both play for the adult men’s teams at Racquets Fitness Centre playing in the Oxfordshire Inter-club leagues and play for the Oxfordshire county in the Intercounty junior championships.
Nick helps Roger Ridler and Sue Martin-Downhill on Saturdays, Mondays and Tuesdays to teach the younger children. His passion for the game is evident every time he is seen on court on his own practising.
With the help of Nick we have plenty of new keen players who are learning the craft of squash ready to join the tournament trail. Ollie Coulcher-Porter is just one of these who made great progress in the County Championships Under 11s.
