  • Racquets Graded Tournament attracts World Class players

Thanks to the sponsorship by Eddy Smythe and prizes by Technifibre our Graded Squash Tournament this weekend has attracted a World Class field.  Adrian Waller plays on Saturday at 1.30pm – he is currently World Ranked #27.  From Friday at 5pm there will be World Ranked players playing singles and doubles right through to Sunday evening.

Throughout the weekend we’ll be seeing these top players playing on courts beside the other grades.  As our graded tournament is designed for all standards and all ages of player we have beginner ladies, beginner juniors, then a range of standards upwards from there.  Players play in ‘grades’ which only have players of similar ability in them.  This gives everyone the chance to have fun but competitive squash and the chance to win prizes.

We are looking forward to seeing how our local pro Will John fares against the competitors this weekend.  This is a great opportunity to play much higher ranked players with the advantage of home courts.

The event is a family event too as with 3 of the Richards family playing – Adrian (dad) and Alfie and Ned.

The prize fund for the tournament is £2000 sponsored by Eddy Smythe with prizes for all the grades from Technifibre.

We are all really looking forward to this weekend as the atmosphere will be buzzing.  Graded Tournaments are a great social event in the squash calendar for all players.  We are also looking forward to enjoying live music from local band The Connections on Saturday evening.

So, if you would like to see some top squash live at your local club do come down and visit us from Friday 5pm through to Sunday 5pm.
