  • A successful Thame Carnival 2014

This year’s carnival had a sporty theme and the people of Thame really came out to celebrate. The sun was shining and the Pimms flowed. From our plot we could see the centre area and those taking part. The Zumba flash mob organised by Sandra Brookes was great and the cricket group had people looking to the sky’s thru sheer terror of falling balls.  On our stall we demonstrated squash on the mini wall (thanks for Anna Harper for teaching the new people and playing with everyone all day) we had people playing on the battle ropes getting themselves tangled up and then to top things off our therapist Anna Shaw gave out massages to ease the fatigue of those who were active – especially grateful was the Carnival organising chair Sue.

The Racquets team put on a fun obstacle course with Liam, Jack & Claire all participating. We had kids and adults, boys and girls all having a go and trying their best. We had press ups, bunny hops, and ladder drills. Not forgetting the dizzy dash which made the event for me – seeing adults (Roo Davies & Kayleigh Stewart) flailing about dashing towards the finishing line the wrong way!

Personal highlights for me: The Frozen yogurt & the massive Bouncy castle supposedly “the biggest in Europe”.

A big thank you to all those that made the event possible and an especially big thank you to our Sue Martin-Downhill for taking over to ensure that the event took place at all.
